A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID MONEYS

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro applied for funding through the Arkansas Recreational Trails Program to develop or improve the Jonesboro Community Park and has been notified by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department that this Project has been approved, and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro is willing to provide the required 50% matching funding for the project, and
WHEREAS, this project, using federal funding, will be open and available for use by the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO, THAT:
SECTION I. The City of Jonesboro will participate in accordance with its designated responsibility, including maintenance of this project.
SECTION II. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of the above stated project.
SECTION III. The City Council of the City of Jonesboro pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to cooperate with the Arkansas State Highway Department to initiate action to implement this project.
THIS RESOLUTION adopted this 6th day of October, 1997.
