A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ACCEPT THE LOW BID AND ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO WILKINS ELECTRIC, LLC FOR INSTALLATION OF A STREET LIGHTING CIRCUIT FOR WASHINGTON AVENUE FROM MARION BERRY TO BORGMAN STREET

WHEREAS, in 2025 the City of Jonesboro began a lighting project to provide better visibility on the pedestrian corridor between downtown and Arkansas State University; and

WHEREAS, the Creath Street circuit is complete and operational and fixtures were purchased in bulk to provide enough material to complete the corridor lighting project; and

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to accept the low bid and issue a Purchase Order for the Washington Avenue Lighting installation project;

WHEREAS, the low bidder and the firm selected for the project is Wilkins Electric, LLC.; and,

WHEREAS, the funding for the execution of the Purchase Order shall come from the Capital Improvement budget and compensation shall be paid in accordance with the terms of Bid Number 2026:25.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:

Section 1: That the City of Jonesboro shall accept the low bid and issue a Purchase Order to Wilkins Electric, LLC. for the Washington Avenue Lighting project.

Section 2. Funding for the execution of the Purchase Order shall come from the Capital Improvement budget and compensation shall be paid in accordance with the terms of Bid Number 2026:254.

Section 3. The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to direct the Purchasing/Finance Specialist to issue a Purchase Order for this project.
