RESOLUTION TO ENDORSE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

WHEREAS, members of the Jonesboro Police department and interested citizens have collected the necessary signature on petitions to place the question of a Civil Service Commission on the ballot in the November 1982 General Election, and:

WHEREAS, it is the belief of those officers and citizens that the establishment of a Civil Service Commission as provided by Act 326 of the Acts of Arkansas of 1949, as amended, and Act 166 of the Acts of Arkansas of 1971, as amended, will result in improved public safety services and employee relations,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro this 19^th day of July in the year of our Lord 1982, that we endorse the establishment of a Civil Service Commission and encourage all citizens of Jonesboro to do likewise.
