RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO ABANDON CERTAIN STREETS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN OPENED OR USED BY THE PUBLIC AS STREETS

WHEREAS, property owners have filed a Petition with the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, requesting that certain streets described in the petition which were dedicated to the public use as streets, but have not been opened or used by the public as streets, but have not been opened or used by the public as streets be vacated and abandoned; and,
WHEREAS, the petition has been presented to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, Section 14-301-302 of the Arkansas Code requires public notice once a week for two consecutive weeks before the above streets can be vacated and abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice once a week for two consecutive weeks advising the public that property owners desire to vacate and abandon streets which were known as Roosevelt Avenue and Caraway Avenue in Highland Park Addition, and that this matter will be heard before the City Council on April 18, 1988, at 7:15 p.m. at City Hall, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 21st day of March, 1988.
