AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETTIVE BIDDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF LIGHT DETECTION AND RANGING (LiDAR) ELEVATION DATA FOR JONESBORO AND AUTHORIZING AMEC EARTH & ENVIRONMENTAL, INC. TO PROCEED

Body

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

 

SECTION 1: That the City of Jonesboro Engineering Department has the need for the services of AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc. for the collection of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) Elevation data.

 

SECTION 2: That AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc. is providing Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) the service for the LAnguille and Cache Watersheds in Craighead County and other connecting counties and will encompass approximately ½ of the west side of Jonesboro and therefore can offer the inclusion of the City of Jonesboro at a much reduced rate.

 

SECTION 3: That AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc. has offered to include the east ½ of Jonesboro, with the inclusion of a selected buffer area, for $354.00 per square mile plus $2,000.00 for set up and processing. With this inclusion, the City of Jonesboro will be covered.

 

SECTION 4: The Mayor is hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to enter into an agreement with AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc. for the collection of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) Elevation Data for a cost of up to $45,000.00.

 

SECTION 5: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C. A. Section 14-58-302 hereby waives the requirement for competitive bidding due to the immediate need to acquire said services from a qualified company.
