AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:  

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential One to Commercial Three the following described property:

 

Being a part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (0.03 acres) and part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (2.17 acres) all being in Section 2, Township 13 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows:

 

Begin at the Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 2, Township 13 North.  Range 3 East, thence South 89°06' West 210.0 feet; thence North 0°20' West 312.4 feet; thence North 66°11' West 35.6 feet to the Easterly Right-Of-Way Line of Arkansas State Highway #49; thence North 30°58' East along said Right-Of-Way Line 62.5 feet; thence North 0°20' West 69.6 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 2.20 acres and being subject to an easement for Arkansas State Highway 49 along the Northwest Corner of the tract as shown on the plat and any Rights Of Way and easements of record.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval
