RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, REGARDING THE PROPOSED ADDITION OF CHAPTER 32, CONCERNING THE REGULATION AND CONTROL OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, TO THE OFFICIAL CODE OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have recognized a need to regulate and control the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages at the local level in the interest of public safety, there is a proposed ordinance to establish standards for the location, sale, distribution and associated penalties for violations, for any business engaged in the sale and/or distribution of alcoholic beverages; and

 

WHEREAS, there is a need to adopt the ordinance by reference pursuant to ACA 14-55-207, and to provide public notice of the City’s intent, advising the public that three (3) copies are on file and available for public review in the Office of the City Clerk; and

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

 

1.                     Three (3) copies of the proposed ordinance regarding the addition of Chapter 32, concerning the regulation and control of alcoholic beverages, to the official code of the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas are now on file and available for public review in the Office of the City Clerk.  That the City Council will review the proposed ordinance at its next regularly scheduled meeting on January 16, 2007.
