RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A SPECIAL ELECTION TO VOTE ON THE METROPOLITAN AREA TRAFFIC AUTHORITY PLAN
body
WHEREAS, the Jonesboro City Council on April 6, 1992 determined it to be in the best interest of the citizens of Jonesboro to vote on the issue and determine the feelings of its majority regarding the Metropolitan Area Traffic Authority Plan as contained in Ordinance No. 2381 of February 17, 1992.  Thereafter, the Jonesboro City Council by Resolution of April 6, 1992 directed the City Administration to take necessary steps to place the issue of the ballot for a referendum at the November 3, 1992 General Election.

WHEREAS, since that time the Jonesboro City Clerk has determined that Petitions presented to her had sufficient names for a referendum of said Ordinance and the Petitions were certified as being adequate.

THEREFORE, by passage of this additional Resolution the City Administration again is authorized and directed to take the necessary steps for a Special Election to be held concurrent with the General Election, Tuesday, November 3, 1992, which date the Council finds to be the earliest practicable time the election can be held.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we have hereunto set our hands this June 15, 1992.

PASSED AND ADOPTED the 15th day of June, 1992.
