BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas

 

SECTION 1:   That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows: (N. of Highland, W. of Bernard - Johnny White)

 

From Commercial (C-3) to Residential (R-1) of property described as follows: A part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 20, Township 14 North, Range  4  East,  being more particularly described as follows:  Begin at the Southwest Corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section Quarter of Section 20, Township 14 North, Range 4 East; thence North 0° 49' 01" East on the 40 acre line 386.50 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence North 0°49' 01" East 100.00 feet; thence South 88° 32' 40" East 828.88 feet to the West line of Wewers Addition; thence South 0°41' 11" West 100.00 feet; thence South 88° 59' 09" West 349.28 feet: thence North 89° 40' 09" West 160.00 feet; thence North 87°51' 04" West 315.06 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 1.99 acres, more or less.

 

SECTION 2:   It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
