SPECIAL CALLED MEETING CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - AUGUST 28, 1998

 

The Jonesboro City Council met Friday August 28, 1998, at 12:00 noon. A full quorum was in attendance. Present were: Mayor Brodell, City Clerk, Donna K. Jackson, City Attorney, Phillip Crego and 10 council members. Those members were: Kelton, Rorex, Davis, Tate, Crockett, Rega, Young, Perrin, Bowers, and Roddy.

 

Councilman Tate moved, seconded by Councilman Perrin for the adoption of a resolution to approve and endorse segments of certain routes through the Jonesboro incorporated area as official segments of the state scenic byway known as the Crowley’s Ridge Parkway. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members present voting aye. Those members were: Kelton, Rorex, Davis, Tate, Crockett, Rega, Young, Perrin, Bowers, and Roddy. The resolution was assigned number 1998:51.

 

Councilman Davis moved, seconded by Councilman Tate for the adoption of a resolution to alter the official route designated as a state scenic byway by seeking an amendment of certain portions that lie within the city limits of Jonesboro, Arkansas. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members present voting aye. Those members were: Kelton, Rorex, Davis, Tate, Crockett, Rega, Young, Perrin, Bowers, and Roddy. The resolution was assigned number 1998:52.

 

Councilman Roddy moved, seconded by Councilman Perrin to accept the low bid, meeting bid specifications of Johnson Controls for $65,283.00 for HVAC system improvements to the Earl Bell Community Center. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members present voting aye. Those members were: Kelton, Rorex, Davis, Tate, Crockett, Rega, Young, Perrin, Bowers, and Roddy.

 

With no further business the meeting was adjourned.
