AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO REZONE FROM RESIDENTIAL (R-1) TO INDUSTRIAL (I-1) TO CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 9700 BLOCK OF EAST HIGHLAND.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classification as follows:
From R-1 to I-1 the following described property:
The East 105 feet of the South 210 feet of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 21, Township 14 North, Range 5 East, less right of way for Highway 19 along the south side thereof and the right of way of Bradshaw Road along the East side thereof.
SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the city council that the proper use of the tract of land described above in the ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
