RESOLUTION TO LEASE PART OF THE HUNTINGTON BUILDING TO FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH TO OPERATE THE HUNTINGTON MISSION CHURCH

Whereas, the City of Jonesboro owns the facility located at 900 West Monroe, commonly referred to as the "Huntington Building"; and

Whereas, the City of Jonesboro recognizes the efforts of First Baptist Church to operate the Huntington Mission Church; and

Whereas, the Huntington Mission Church has provided outreach activities (Medical and Dental Clinics, Tutoring and other youth outreach activities, meals, etc.) to many in need in the surrounding area; and

Whereas, First Baptist Church wishes to utilize the space in the Huntington Building as the hub of their community outreach for the neighborhood surrounding this facility.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

1.      The City Council agrees to the terms and conditions of the agreement as outlined in the attached lease.

2.      The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute such documents as are necessary to effectuate this agreement.
