AN ORDINANCE TO BAN THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN CRAIGHEAD FOREST PARK EXCEPT ON ROADS AND DESIGNATED AREAS; PRESCRIBING OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY (NOTE: THIS ORDINANCE WAS AMENDED BY ORD-05:255 ON FEBRUARY 1, 2005)

Section 1: It shall be a violation of the laws of the City of Jonesboro for any person to ride or drive any motor vehicle, including automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, motor scooters, three-wheelers and four- or six-wheeled all terrain vehicles, in Craighead Forest Park except on paved or gravel roads, parking areas, campsites or other designated areas.
 
Section 2: This ordinance shall not apply to authorized maintenance or utility vehicles and to emergency vehicles of any kind.
 
Section 3: Any person adjudged guilty of violation of this ordinance shall upon conviction, be fined an amount of not less than $35.00.
 
Section 4: All ordinances and parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
 
Section 5: It is hereby ascertained and declared that, in order to protect the health and safety of the residents of the City of Jonesboro, an emergency exists and this ordinance shall take effect from and after the date of its approval by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro.
