A RESOLUTION CLARIFYING RETIREMENT BENEFITS FOR THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO

WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated Section 24-12-123 provides for retirement benefits for Mayors of cities of the first class who meet service and age requirements, and

WHEREAS, retirement benefits are payable monthly at the rate of one-half (1/2) of the Mayor’s salary at the time of retirement, and

WHEREAS; the Mayor of the City of Jonesboro receives, in addition to an annual salary, a monthly car allowance,

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, that the car allowance shall not be considered in the computation of retirement benefits authorized by A.C.A. 24-12-123.
