AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A JOHN DEERE 310-C TRACTOR LOADER BACKHOE SERIAL NO.M-731-379

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section l: The City Council finds and declares that there is a need to purchase a 1986 310-C John Deere Tractor Loader Backhoe immediately.

Section 2: Said Backhoe may be purchased immediately from Barton Equipment Co. of Arkansas Inc., Jonesboro, Arkansas for the sum of Twenty nine thousand seven hundred dollars (29,700.00). The City Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to purchase said Backhoe.

Section 3: The City Council finds and declares that the immediate purchase of said backhoe is necessary for the health and welfare of the Citizens of Jonesboro. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and due to said emergency, the Council waives the usual bidding requirements and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
