RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROCEDURES FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF SPECIFIC MUNICIPAL POLICE RECORDS.

WHEREAS, AR. CODE ANNOTATED 14-2-201 THROUGH 14-2-204 OUTLINES PROCEDURES FOR MAINTAINING, RECORDING AND DESTRUCTION OF SPECIFIC POLICE RECORDS; AND

 

WHEREAS, A RETENTION LIST SHALL BE MADE ESTABLISHING A TIME PERIOD FOR RETAINING THESE SPECIFIC STORED DOCUMENTS. UPON THE DETERMINATION OF WHAT SPECIFIC DOCUMENTS ARE TO BE DESTROYED, PERIOD OF TIME AND METHOD SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE MAYOR FOR HIS APPROVAL BY THE DEPARTMENT HEAD; AND

 

WHEREAS, A RETENTION LIST IS ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT A”

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

 

1.  THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO HEREBY ADOPTS THESE DESTRUCTION PROCEDURES FOR RETENTION, MAINTENANCE, RECORDINGS AND DESTRUCTION OF SPECIFIC POLICE RECORDS.

 

THIS RESOLUTION PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 19TH    DAY OF DECEMBER, 2005.
