A RESOLUTION TO CREATE AND APPOINT MEMBERS TO AN AD HOC URBAN FORESTRY COMMITTEE

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro is interested in preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of Jonesboro.
WHEREAS, the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce Environmental Preservation Committee and the City of Jonesboro Parks and Recreation Department have a desire to form an ad hoc Urban Forestry Committee
WHEREAS, the purpose of the ad hoc Urban Forestry Committee shall be to propose ordinances creating an Urban Forestry Committee and an urban forestry plan, to serve as advisors to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro in matters regarding trees, to apply to the national Arbor Day Foundation for the City of Jonesboro to become a "Tree City USA," and educate the public about tree preservation and the benefits of the urban forest.
WHEREAS, the Mayor of Jonesboro has appointed Pam Alexander, Bill Hall, Ann Waits, Adam Salisbury, Mike Donahue, Jason Wilkie, Christy Appleton, and Jodi Morris to serve on the ad hoc Urban Forestry Committee.
WHEREAS, the term of their service shall be until an Urban Forestry Committee is created.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I: That the City of Jonesboro shall appoint Pam Alexander, Bill Hall, Ann Waits, Adam Salisbury, Mike Donahue, Jason Wilkie, Christy Appleton, and Jodi Morris to serve on the ad hoc Urban Forestry Committee.
