RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO ABANDON AN UNIMPROVED STREET KNOWN AS SOUTH STREET

WHEREAS, the property owners have filed a petition with the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas requesting that the unimproved street known as South Street extending from Industrial Drive to Dudley Street be vacated and abandoned; and
WHEREAS, this street, although having been dedicated a number of years ago, has never been used and is totally unimproved; and
WHEREAS, petitions have been presented to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, approved by all adjoining property owners requesting that said street be vacated and abandoned; and
WHEREAS, Arkansas Statue Annotated 19-3814 requires two weeks public notice before the above street can be vacated and abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice once a week for two consecutive weeks advising the public of the property owners request to vacate and abandon South Street extending from Industrial Drive to Dudley Street, and that this matter be heard before the City Council on April 5, 1993, at 6:45 o'clock p.m., at City Hall, Jonesboro Arkansas.
PASSED AND ADOPTED the 1st day of March, 1993.
