RESOLUTION TO REQUEST ARKANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY NAME THE FINE ARTS BUILDING AFTER DONALD R. MINX

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, TO REQUEST THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF ARKANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY TO NAME THE DIVISION OF PERFORMING ARTS OR THE FINE ARTS BUILDING ON THE A.S.U. CAMPUS POSTHUMOUSLY FOR DONALD R. MINX.
WHEREAS, Donald R. Minx served as an Alderman on the Jonesboro City Council from 1967 until his untimely death March 4, 1982; and
WHEREAS, Donald R. Minx made a tremendous contribution to City Government and represented the City of Jonesboro through his leadership and dedicated service; and
WHEREAS, the civic dedication of Donald R. Minx shall always be remembered and appreciated by the citizens of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to provide a fitting tribute to a man whose dynamism, professionalism and commitment to Arkansas State University greatly contributed to making A.S.U. the progressive university it has become; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to duly honor the memory of a great contributor to Jonesboro and Arkansas State University and endorses the naming the division of performing arts or the fine arts building on the Arkansas State Campus in honor of Donald R. Minx and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the permanent records of the City of Jonesboro.
