RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE URBAN RENEWAL PLAN TO CLARIFY THE STREET WIDTHS ON BRIDGE STREET

WHEREAS, under the provisions of Title I of the Housing Act of 1949 as amended, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development is authorized to provide financial assistance to Local Public Agencies for undertaking and carrying out Neighborhood development Programs; and

 

WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Plan was approved by City Council on February 21, 1972 and amended; and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Urban Renewal Plan to provide for a variance of the widening of Bridge Street right-of-way from 60’ to 50’ and also a variance of the pavement width from 44’ to 31’ and

 

WHEREAS, the variances as stated herein have been approved by the Planning Commission of the City of Jonesboro; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has approved this previously in accepting the NDP Application and subsequent City had approved this in the plans submitted to HUD;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:

 

1.                     The Urban Renewal Plan be amended for clarification of the street widths on Bridge Street.

2.                     That Bridge Street be improved with a right-of-way width of 50’ instead of 60’, and with a pavement width of 31’ rather than 44’.

3.                     That the undersigned is duly authorized to execute this agreement;
