AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A CITY EMPLOYEE’S BID FOR PROJECT IMPROVEMENTS

WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated 14-42-107 et seq provides that Interest in offices or contracts prohibited by any alderman, council member, official or municipal employee; and
WHEREAS, Mike Cameron, Cameron Construction Company has entered a low bid for the project improvements for ADA curb cuts and ramps in the amount of $143,355.25;
WHEREAS, Special permission will need to be given by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro for bid to be accepted.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:
SECTION 1: The City Council for the City of Jonesboro gives special permission for Cameron Construction Company’s bid in the amount of $143,355.25 to be accepted for ADA project.
SECTION 2: Said amount will be paid from the appropriated ADA monies in Account 07-100-0187-00.
SECTION 3: It is further found that due to immediate need to acquire the work, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
