CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - JULY 6, 1999

The Jonesboro City Council met Monday, July 6, 1999, at 6:30 p.m. A full quorum was in attendance. Present were: Mayor Hubert Brodell, City Attorney, Phillip Crego, City Clerk, Donna K. Jackson, and 11 council members. Those members were: Kelton, Tate, McCall, Young, Crockett, Rorex, Province, Copeland, Moore, Perrin, and Roddy. Councilman Rega was unable to attend.

Councilman Perrin moved, seconded by Councilman Crockett for approval of the minutes from June 21, 1999, as delivered. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Kelton, Tate, McCall, Young, Crockett, Rorex, Province, Copeland, Moore, Perrin, and Roddy.

Mayor Brodell presented Mrs. Jan Coleman a framed copy of Resolution No. 1999:24, adopted June 21, 1999, in honor of the late Jon Coleman for his service to the community of Jonesboro. Mrs. Coleman received a standing ovation by Council and others present at the meeting.

The following ordinance was on third and final reading:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES (Carroll Caldwell)

Councilman Tate moved, seconded by Councilman Rorex for the adoption of the ordinance. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Kelton, Tate, McCall, Young, Crockett, Rorex, Province, Copeland, Moore, Perrin, and Roddy. The ordinance was assigned number 3140

Councilman Perrin offered the following ordinance for first reading:
