Tuesday, August 15, 2006

Members present were: Tim McCall, Chris Moore, Cecil Province and Alec Farmer.
MINUTES
Councilman Farmer motioned, seconded by Councilman Moore, to approve the minutes from the June 13, 2006; June 20, 2006; and July 18, 2006, meetings as written. All voted aye.
MAYOR’S OFFICE
Appointments to the Land Use Advisory Board: Chairman McCall explained he added Betty Shaw and Councilman Street to the appointees to the board. He added Councilman Street will not be a voting member. Councilman Moore motioned, seconded by Councilman Province, to approve the resolution and recommend it to full Council. All voted aye.
Changes to the Traffic Control Review Committee: Chairman McCall stated the Traffic Control Review Committee rarely meets because the people on the committee can’t find the time to meet. Councilman McCall explained he and Captain Baggett would like to take some members off the committee and have only four key members on the committee. Councilman Province motioned, seconded by Councilman Farmer, to approve the ordinance and recommend it to full Council. All voted aye.
Ordinance establishing City Council membership on certain city boards and commissions: Councilman Farmer explained the ordinance would be used to formally state City Council members will serve on certain city boards and commissions. He asked for the committee’s review and input. Councilman Moore suggested approving the ordinance now instead of reviewing it any further. Councilman Farmer motioned, seconded by Councilman Moore, to approve the ordinance and recommend it to full Council. All voted aye.
