PUBLIC HEARING - 6:20 P.M. - A public hearing was conducted for the purpose of establishing the Kid’s Kabbie transport service as requested by Martha McMillin. Ms. McMillin stated she would be transporting children before and after school, Monday through Friday with some Saturday work, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. She explained Nationwide Insurance would be insuring each van for 1.5 million dollars in coverage and each would contain fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and child safety seats. When questioned about parents being aware that she was picking up their children, Ms. McMillin explained the school would be notified along with written permission from the parents. She was questioned regarding where the business would be located and if it was zoned for commercial use. Ms. McMillin responded the business would be located at her home, 2104 Paula Drive, but was uncertain of the zoning.

CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - November 20, 2000

The Jonesboro City Council met Monday, November 20, 2000 at 6:30 p.m. A full quorum was in attendance. Present were: City Clerk Donna Jackson, City Attorney Phillip Crego, and 12 council members. Those members were: Kelton, Tate, McCall, Young, Crockett, Rorex, Rega, Province, Copeland, Moore, Perrin and Roddy. Vice Mayor Rega presided over the meeting for Mayor Brodell who was unable to attend.

Councilman Tate moved, seconded by Councilman Crockett to amend the minutes from November 6, 2000, changing the wording from “third and final reading” to “second reading” on the second page first paragraph. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Kelton, Tate, McCall, Young, Crockett, Rorex, Rega, Province, Copeland, Moore, Perrin and Roddy.
