A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO MATCH FEDERAL AID AND URBAN SYSTEM MONIES FOR VARIOUS PROJECTS WITHIN THE CITY

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro understands additional Federal Aid and Urban System Funds are available for improvements to the city streets; and 

 

WHEREAS, the City has determined that the top priority projects are:

 

(1)  Reconstruct bridge over Turtle Creek on East Nettleton Avenue.

(2)  Reconstruct West Nettleton Avenue from Brookhaven to Frierson.

(3)  Install Thermoplastic Pavement Markings on FAU System.

(4)  Reconstruct Wood Street from 63 Bypass to Neely, and Neely from wood to Christian Creek.

(5)  Reconstruct Rains Street from Matthews to Nettleton.

(6)  Extend Rogers Street from Aggie Road to East Washington across Rail Road Track.

 

WHEREAS, the City understands that their matching portion of this project will be 30% of the total cost;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Jonesboro City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:

 

SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro will participate in accordance with its designated responsibility in this project.

 

SECTION 2: The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of the improvements on city streets.

 

SECTION 3: The City of Jonesboro pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate action to construct these projects.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of July, 1978.
