Minutes for the City Council meeting on June 5, 1961

The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Ark. met in regular session at City Hall, Monday night, June 5, 1961, at 7:30 p.m. There were present: Mayor, City Atty., City Clerk and the following named Councilmen: Griffin, Smith, Brewer, Snow, Perry, Kenward, Cook, Brickell, Copeland and Ebbert. Absent: Sammons and Field.
Mr. Brickell offered the following Ordinance and placed it on the first reading:
AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT AS PART OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, WEST 319 FEET OF SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 24, TOWNSHIP 14 NORTH, RANGE 3 EAST.
Mr. Brickell made the motion, seconded by Mr. Snow that the rule be suspended and the Ordinance be placed on the second reading. Roll was called. All members present voted aye. Motion carried. After the second reading, Mr. Brickell moved that the rule be suspended and the Ordinance be placed on the third and final reading. Roll was called. All aye. Motion carried. Mr. Kenward seconded the above motion. Mr. Brickell then moved with Mr. Kenward seconding that the Ordinance be adopted. Roll was called. All aye. Motion carried. The ordinance was given the number 1025.
Mr. Cook offered the following ordinance and placed it on the first reading:
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF INDUSTRIAL REVENUE BONDS IN THE CITY OF JONESBORO; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Mr. Snow made the motion, seconded by Mr. Cook, that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on the second reading. Roll was called. All members present voted aye. Motion carried and the ordinance was then read the second time. Mr. Cook made the motion seconded by Mr. Ebbert that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on the third and final reading. Roll was called. All aye. Motion carried and the ordinance was read for the third and final time. Mr. Snow moved with Mr. Brewer seconding the motion that the ordinance be adopted. Roll was called.
