RESOLUTION EXECUTE FEDERAL AID GRANTS FOR THE JONESBORO MUNICIPAL AIRPORT

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has been approved for federal grant offer for Municipal Airport Improvement Project No.AIP 3-05-0033-2003; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro received a federal grant offer of $82,212.83, with the Jonesboro Airport Commission and State of Arkansas picking up the remaining $9,134.75 to be divided equally; and
WHEREAS, the total sum of $91,347.58 is to be used at the Jonesboro Municipal Airport to provide space and accommodations for transportation security agency with a security area for screening passengers and baggage for departing flights; and
WHEREAS, the grant offer is financed from federal fiscal year funds 2003 and must be accepted by February 28, 2003 in order to be valid.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
1. The City Council shall authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said federal aid grant and to distribute said grant monies for the Jonesboro Municipal Airport Improvement Project No. AIP 3-05-0033-2003.
2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute such documents as are necessary to effectuate this assignment.
