A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE JONESBORO URBAN RENEWAL HOUSING AUTHORITY AS REQUIRED BY A.C.A. § 14-169-208

Body

WHEREAS, A.C.A. § 14-169-208 states when the term of office of a commissioner expires or other vacancy occurs in the commissioners of an authority, the commissioners shall appoint a successor to fill the vacancy, subject to confirmation by the municipal governing body.

WHERAS, the Jonesboro Urban Renewal Housing Authority appointed Dr. David England to fill the unexpired term of Dr. Ken Beadles whose term will expire October 31, 2011; AND

WHERAS, if the Jonesboro City Council fails to confirm or reject the Jonesboro Urban Renewal Housing Authority appointment within forty-five (45) calendar days after receiving written notice of the appointment, the appointment shall be deemed confirmed and the governing body shall have no power to act on the appointment thereafter.

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS that Dr. David England is hereby confirmed to fill the unexpired of Dr. Ken Beadles with an expiration date of October 31, 2011.
