RESOLUTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A SMALL CITIES GRANT FOR DISCRETIONARY FUNDS APPROVING THE EXENDITURE FOR PLANNING SERVICES; AND APPROVING THE CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PLAN DATED APRIL, 1978

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is eligible to apply for Federal Assistance concerning a small cities Discretionary Grant to the Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas does hereby desire to make application for Discretionary funds under the Community Development Block Grant Program Small Cities Grant for the fiscal year 1978; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize The Jonesboro Urban Renewal and Housing Authority to prepare an application for obtaining said Community Development Discretionary Funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the implementation oft eh Citizens Participation Plan dated April 1978; and
WHEREAS, Manes and Associates, Inc. is currently the planner for our fourth Year Community Development Block Grant Program, and it is desirous to enter into a contract for the preparation of a discretionary Small Cities Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas desires to designate the Mayor as The proper authority to make application for and sign all necessary papers needed to obtain these Discretionary Funds:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
(1) That the City Council approved the City to make an application for Discretionary Funds under the Community Development Discretionary Small Cities Program.
(2) The City Council does hereby authorize the Jonesboro Urban Renewal and Housing Authority to make all necessary applications for said funds; and to administer said program if approved by the Department of Housing & Urban Development.
