AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF A SMOKE TRAILER

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:

SECTION 1: That the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas needs to purchase a HD-35 Smoke Trailer for the Fire Department training.

SECTION 2: That said trailer may be purchased from Mobile Concepts by Scotty, the sole supplier for the sum of $41,374.00 plus freight and sales tax,  to be paid from the Fire Safety Prevention Grant account.

SECTION 3: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A.  Section 14-58-302 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Agent to purchase the above described for the price set forth in Section 2 above.

SECTION 4: It is further found that due to immediate need to acquire the supplies, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
