AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE CONTRACT WITH JOHANSON DB SQUARED, LLC TO REVIEW AND REVISE THE CITY'S CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION SYSTEM

Body

WHEREAS, the city of Jonesboro has the need for the services of a professional consultant firm to review and revise the city's classification and compensation plan; and

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

SECTION 1:  Mayor Formon and City Clerk Donna Jackson are authorized to enter in to a contract with DB Squared, LLC, which has been approved as to form by Jonesboro City Attorney, Phillip Crego.

SECTION 2:  That DB Squared, LLC, is a sole source vendor for this software; therefore, competitive bidding is hereby waived in regards to these goods and services.

SECTION 3:  Due to the time frame of the contract to be implemented for the 2009 budget cycle, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance, shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
