Minutes for the City Council meeting on August 7, 1961

The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Ark. met in regular session at City Hall, Monday night, August 7, 1961. There were present: Mayor, City Atty., City Clerk and the following named Councilmen: Field, Smith, Snow, Perry, Cook, Copeland and Ebbert. Absent: Sammons, Griffin, Brewer, Kenward and Brickell.
Mr. Ebbert offered the following Resolution:
RESOLUTION SETTING A POLICY ON ANNEXATION OF NEW SUBDIVISIONS
Mr. Snow made the motion, seconded by Mr. Smith that the Resolution be adopted. Roll was called. All members present voted aye. Motion carried. The resolution was given the number 1961:16.
Mr. Perry offered the following Ordinance and placed it on the first reading:
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 849, CREATING THE OFFICE OF PLUMBING INSPECTOR; GOVERNING THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND INSPECTION OF PLUMBING; AND OTHER PURPOSES.
Mr. Snow moved with Mr. Ebbert seconding the motion that the bills as okayed by the Finance Committee be paid. Roll was called. All present voted aye. Motion carried.
Mr. Field made the motion, seconded by Mr. Copeland that the Mayor secure mimeograph copies of Act No. 9. Roll was called. All present voted aye. Motion carried.
There being no further business, Council voted unanimously to adjourn.
