In attendance were: Ann Williams, Jimmy Ashley, Cecil Province, Jason Wilkie, Doug Formon, Marilyn Copeland, Dave Kroeter and Brad Welbourne
1. Tim McCall moved and Cecil Province seconded a motion to accept the results of the Parks and Recreation Citizen Advisory Committee Survey and Planning Meetings. The Committee voted to accept the results. 4 Yes; 0 No.
2. Jimmy Ashley moved and Cecil Province seconded a motion to accept the Memorandum of Understanding with the State Game and Fish Commission on the improvements to Craighead Forest Park Lake. The Committee will forward the memorandum to the City Council for approval at its April 5th meeting. 4 Yes; 0 No
3. Jason Wilkie discussed a contract with the Jonesboro Softball Association to construct a maintenance facility at the Southside Softball Complex. The approval of the contract had been on hold until it was determined what the city needed to do with a lease that was not formally adopted by the City Council and attested by the City Clerk. Mr. Wilkie reported that Phillip Crego had recommended the City ratify and reaffirm what the previous Mayor had signed on behalf of the City. Mr. Crego felt that if the City of Jonesboro were to void the contract it could 1) incur monetary damages 2) lose the property and/or 3) pay a higher price for the facility than the current lease. Tim McCall moved and Jimmy Ashley seconded a motion to ratify and reaffirm the lease with the Developmental Disabilities and to approve the contract with the Jonesboro Softball Association for its maintenance facility. The committee will forward the contract to the City Council for approval at its April 5th meeting. 4-Yes; 0-No
