RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CTY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR A RENTAL REHABILITATION GRANT.

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is eligible to participate under a Rental Rehabilitation Program for Small Cities, pursuant to Section 17 of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42USC14370) which was enacted by Section 301 of the Housing and Urban-Renewal Recovery Act of 1983 (Public Law 98-181), approved November 30, 1983; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro is desirous of applying by August 29, 1986 to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for a Rental Rehabilitation Grant under another round of funding; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
1. That an application for a Rental Rehabilitation Program Grant in the amount of $200,000.00 for 40 units for 1986 funding as described in the application forms are hereby approved.
2. The Neil J. Stallings, Mayor is authorized to submit an application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development on behalf of the City of Jonesboro to undertake this program.
3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately.
