AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING CERTAIN TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: The City Council finds and declares that the conditions of traffic is such as to endanger the traveling public and pedestrians on certain streets and that certain traffic control devices are to be provided and placed on the following streets:
A. Stop signs at the intersection of West Nettleton Ext4ended and S. Dupwe, traffic on Dupwe yielding to traffic on West Nettleton.
B. Stop signs at the intersection of Harvester and Rosewood, traffic on Harvester yielding to traffic on Rosewood.
C. 20 MPH speed zones to be placed on Timber Ridge.
D. 20 MPH speed zones to be placed on Stone Mill.
E. Stop signs to be placed at Stone and Stallings Lane, traffic on Stone yielding to traffic on Stallings Lane.
Section 2: The drivers of all vehicles shall obey all traffic control signs per instruction on the face thereof.
Section 3: The Chief of Police or some person designated by him is hereby directed to place and locate on the above described streets at the proper places, appropriate signs designating traffic control as set out above and its shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to tear down, remove or mutilate said signs.
Section 4: Every person convicted to a violation of any provision of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than $100.00.
Section 5: All ordinances and/or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6: It is hereby found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro that due to increasing traffic congestion and lack of traffic control devices on the above streets, there is a great possibility that failure to have these control devices will cause danger to life and property, therefore, an emergency...
