AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.  954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1   That Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission   (RZ91-9) by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Industrial (I-1) the following described property:

 

Part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 24, T14N, being more particularly described as follows:

 

Begin at the southeast corner of the SW 1/4, SW ¼ of Section 24, T14N, R4E; thence North 503.0 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence S89°10' West 1279.8 feet; thence North 453.1 feet; thence N 89°10' East 234.0 feet; thence North 350.0 feet; thence N89°10' East 1045.8 feet; thence South 803.1 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 21.71 acres and also known as Payton Minor Plat. 

 

SECTION 2    It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
