AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, ARKANSAS, BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT DATED FEBRUARY 28, 1975, ASSIGNING SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD 4; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

WHEREAS, a petition for the annexation of certain lands to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereinafter described was duly filed with the County Clerk of Craighead County, Arkansas, Western District, on January 20, 1975; and
WHEREAS, said petition for the annexation of said lands was signed by a majority of the real estate owners owning a majority of the acreage annexed to the City of Jonesboro; and
WHEREAS, an order setting a hearing on said petition was entered, and notice was duly published of said hearing, and hearing upon said petition was duly had and held in the County Court on the 28th day of February, 1975, at 9:30 a.m., at which hearing it was duly found and declared by the curt that said petition for annexation was right and proper, and that said lands hereinafter described should be annexed to the City of Jonesboro, whereupon an order of annexation was made and entered; and
WHEREAS, thirty (30) days have expired since the order of annexation dated February 28, 1975, and no proceedings to prevent said annexation have been filed in the Circuit Court of the Western District of Craighead County, Arkansas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That territory and lands annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, by order of the County Court of Craighead County, Arkansas, Western District, dated February 28, 1975, be and they are hereby accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and said territory hereinafter described shall be deemed and taken to be part and parcel of the limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and inhabitants within the new annexation shall have and enjoy all the rights and privileges of the inhabitants within the origi...
