ORDINANCE FOR THE CLOSING OF THE EAST 150 FEET OF THE EAST AND WEST ALLEY RUNNING THROUGH BLOCK 3 OF KREWSON’S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO

WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, on the 6th day of July, 1964, asking the City Council to vacate and abandon all that portion of the alley designated on the plat of Krewson Addition to Jonesboro, now appearing of record in Deed Book 9, page 93, in the office of the Recorder of Craighead County, hereinafter described.
WHEREAS, after due notices as required by law, the Council has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the alley hereinbefore described has heretofore been dedicated to the public use as an alley herein described; has not been actually used by the public generally for a period of at least five years subsequent to the filing of the plat; that all the owners of the property abutting upon the portion of the alley to be vacated have filing of the plat; that all the owners of the property abutting upon the portion of the alley to be vacated have filed with the Council their written consent to such abandonment; and that public interest and welfare will not e adversely affected by the abandonment of such alley
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all its right, together with the rights of the public generally in and to the alley designated as follows:
That portion of the East and West alley between Lot 4 on the North and Lot 5 on the South in Block 3 of Krewson Addition to the City of Jonesboro, the same being 15 feet in width and running 150 feet West from Madison Street to the North and South alley in said block.
