AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1771 OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS; INCREASING THE MONTHLY GARBAGE FEES FOR RESIDENTIAL UNITS (SINGLE FAMILY AND MULTI FAMILY DWELLINGS) AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY (NOTE: THIS ORDINANCE WAS AMENDED BY ORD-85:1599 ON NOVEMBER 18, 1985)

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas;
Section 1: That Ordinance No.1771 of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby amended by increasing the now existing monthly rates for garbage collection as follows:
(a) All single family dwelling units shall pay $5.75 per month:
(b) All multi family dwelling units shall pay $5.25 per month.
Section 2: City Water and Light is hereby authorized to bill each family dwelling and each multi family dwelling as indicated in subsection (a) and (b).
Section 3: All ordinances and/or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City is in need of additional revenues and an increase in the rate is necessary for continued effective sanitary services; therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
