AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A PART OF THE SE ¼ OF THE NW ¼ OF SECTION 36, TOWNSHIP 14 NORTH, RANGE 3 EAST, TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
It being determined by the County Court of Craighead County, Arkansas, after due notice and according to the provisions of law, to enter an order of annexation on September 21, 1982, making:
A part of the Southeast Quarter (SE ¼ ) of the Northwest Quarter (NW ¼ ) of Section 36, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, being more particularly described as follows: begin at the North ¼ corner of the Northwest Quarter (NW ¼) of afore-said Section 36; thence South on the 40 acre line 1791.9 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence S 69° 01’ East 378.7 feet to the Northerly right-of-way line of U.S. Highway No.49; thence S 51°04’ West along said right-of-way line 305.3 feet; thence N 45°47’ West 161.9 feet; thence North 214.1 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 1.43 acres.
A part of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and it being found that said territory should be accepted into and made a part of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas;
IT IS THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That the above described lands are hereby accepted and made a part of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, annexed thereto, and the persons residing therein shall have and enjoy all the rights and privileges of the inhabitants within the original limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: Said lands shall be assigned to ward 4 and are hereby zoned Commercial -3 (C-3).
Section 3: It is hereby found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that there is now an extreme emergency that the territory herein be immediately annexed to and accepted by the City of Jonesboro in order to facilitate proper development of the property and so that inhabitants therein can be entitled to fire, police, z...
