AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the changes in zoning classification as follows:
Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
A part of the South Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 10, Township 14 North, Range 4 East in Craighead County, Arkansas to wit: From the Northeast corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter said Section 10, run N. 90°00'00" W. a distance of 330.00 ft. to a point; thence S. 00°00'00" W. a distance of 643.70 feet to the point of beginning; thence N. 90°00'00" E. a distance of 338.40 feet to a point; thence S. 04°02'23" E. a distance of 109.27 feet to a point on the Northerly right of way line of Arkansas State Highway No. 49; thence S. 58°26'19" W. along said right of way line a distance of 406.18 ft. to a point; thence leaving said right of way line, run N. 00°00'00" E. a distance of 321.60 feet to the point of beginning, containing 1.72 acres.
SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the city council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
