RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO VACATE AND ABANDON STREETS AND ALLEYS IN BARRETT’S ADDITION

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

WHEREAS, a petition has been filed by P.N. Latourette et al, being the only property owners whose property abuts certain streets and alleys which they pray be vacated, said streets and alleys more particularly described in Exhibit “A” attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution as though set out word for word.

WHEREAS, said streets and alleys are not needed for public use;

NOW, THEREFORE,  be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the City Clerk give notice by publication once a week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in Craighead County, advising the public and property owners effected that on the 20^th day of May, 1957, the City Council will hear the petition and determine whether such property shall be abandoned as streets and alleys and whether all abutting property owners and other interested persons have consented to such abandonment.

PASSED and ADOPTED this 6^th day of May, 1957.
