A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID MONIES

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro understands federal-aid surface transportation enhancement funds are available at 80 % federal participation and 20 % local cash match for the following project: bicycle lane project on:

 

                     College Avenue (Main Street-Church Street)

                     Church Street (College Avenue-Wilkins Avenue)

                     Wilkins Avenue (Church Street-Hillcrest Drive)

                     Wilkins Avenue (Hillcrest Dr-Caraway Road) *Bicycle Route

                     Rains Street (Wilkins Avenue-Nettleton Avenue)

                     Rains Street (Nettleton Ave-Matthews Ave) *Bicycle Route

                     Matthews Ave (Rains St.-Carson Street) *Bicycle Route

                     Carson St (Matthews Ave-Washington Ave) *Bicycle Route

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:

 

SECTION ONE:  The City of Jonesboro will participate in accordance with its designated responsibility, including maintenance of this project.

 

SECTION TWO:  As chief executive officer, Mayor Hubert Brodell is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of the above stated improvement.

 

SECTION THREE:  The City Council of the City of Jonesboro pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate action to implement this project.
