The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, met in regular session on the above named date at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall. There were present: Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney and the following named Councilmen: Berry, Booker, Stricklin, Snow, Stephens, Hendrix, Copeland, Rogers, Johnson and Taylor.

Mr. Johnson offered the following resolution:

RESOLUTION NAMING JUDGES AND CLERKS FOR THE ELECTION TO BE HELD FEBRUARY 18, 1954

Mr. Johnson made the motion, seconded by Mr. Booker, that the resolution be adopted as red. Roll called. All aye. The resolution was given the number 1954:01.

Mr. Snow made the motion, seconded by Mr. Booker, that the permit for a wash and grease rack with storage room be granted to W.M. Thomas, 1217 N. Church. Roll called. All aye.

Mr. Stephens made the motion, seconded by Mr. Booker, that the City Council accept the granite type pool for the colored community center pool. Roll called. All aye.

Mr. Rogers made the motion, seconded by Mr. Booker, that the Council accept the preliminary work of Elmer Stuck on the colored community center and ask them to continue the work. Roll called. All aye.

Mr. Snow made the motion, seconded by Mr. Booker, that the time for buying City tags and privilege licenses be extended until 5:00 p.m., February 16, 1954. All aye.

Mr. Snow made the motion, seconded by Mr. Booker, that the Mayor be authorized to purchase cleaning machine and fluid necessary tools for the maintenance of the parking meters. Roll called. All aye.

Mr. Rogers offered the following resolution:

RESOLUTION NAMING THE CITIZENS BANK OF JONESBORO AS THE DEPOSITORY OF THE FUNDS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

Mr. Berry made the motion, seconded by Mr. Booker, that the resolution be adopted as read. Roll called. All aye. The resolution was given the number 1954:02.
