RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE FARM EXPO TO BE A YEARLY EVENT IN FEBRUARY OF EACH YEAR AND TO BE UNDER THE CONTROL OF KFIN SUPER COUNTRY

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that
WHEREAS, KFIN Super Country of Jonesboro, Arkansas, conducts an annual Farm Expo; and
WHEREAS, Expo ’85 proved to be second only to the Northeast Arkansas District Fair in attracting visitors to Jonesboro; and
WHEREAS, the Farm Expo will identify Jonesboro as the center of farming in Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, the Farm Expo will increase business to restaurants and motels in the Jonesboro area; and
WHEREAS, the Farm Expo has the potential of focusing national attention to Jonesboro for its contributions to agriculture; and
WHEREAS, the Farm Exp will provide a foundation by which we can build a monument to Arkansas agriculture in Jonesboro attracting visitors to the area; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of this Council to give moral backing to the Farm Expo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro that the City Council hereby authorizes the Farm Expo to become an annual event and gives its moral backing to such events; and further that said Farm Expo will be conducted in February of each year and will be under the control and supervision of KFIN Super Country; and further that said event shall be known as Northeast Arkansas Farm Expo.
