AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:   

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential One (R-1) To Commercial Three(C-3) the following described property.

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

 

The north Three Hundred (300) feet of the following described property:  Part of the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 11, T14N, R4E, Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, and being more particularly described as follows, begin at the SE corner of the NW 1/4, NW 1/4 of said Section 11, thence South 88º18' 26" West 766.01 feet to a point in the center of Breedlove Creek, thence along centerline of said creek North 13º1' 12" West 137.66 feet, thence North 49º42' 33" West 104.63 feet, thence North 24º32' 9" West 162.71 feet, thence North 38º31'14" West 46.83 feet, thence North 30º0'6" East 60.23 feet to a point on the East bank of said ditch, thence North 3º18'17" East 298.66 feet, thence North 19º41'6" West 388.19 feet, thence North 1º50'23" West 145.3 feet to the South right-of-way of state highway #49, thence North 88º51'49" East along said right-of-way 1075.38 feet, thence South 0º38'10" West 1246.26 feet to the point of beginning.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
