AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 PROVIDING FOR A CHANGE IN ZONING DISTRICT BOUNDARIES

body

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: That Ordinance No.954, known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, is amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change of zoning district boundaries as follows:

1.                     From Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-3) of Lot  2 of Thorn’s Addition to the Town of Nettleton (now City of Jonesboro) less and except the west 100 feet thereof, being a lot 110 feet by 210 feet west of and near to the Southwest Corner of the intersection of Highland Drive and Nettleton Avenue.

2.                     To change from Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-3) of Lots 1, 2 and 21 of Lane’s Second Addition to the City of Jonesboro which lots lie on the east side of Church Street between Oak and Buffalo Streets; and Lots 1, 2 and 3 in Block 1 of Beloates Addition to the City of Jonesboro, which lots lie in the Southeast Corner of Church and Oak Streets extending 190 feet east on Oak and 193 feet south on Church.

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tracts of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of the improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of public peace, health and safety, shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

PASSED and ADOPTED this 21st day of December, 1964.
