RESOLUTION TO LEVY A TAX ON ALL REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY FOR THE FIREMEN’S PENSION AND RELIEF FUND

WHEREAS, the fully organized, qualified, constituted and acting Board of Trustees of the Firemen’s Pension and Relief Fund of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, have enacted and caused to be certified to the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, a Resolution finding that the sum of $_____ is necessary to discharge the functions of said Board during the year 1981, and
WHEREAS, the City Council doth hereby approve said aforementioned Resolution and Certificate, and
WHEREAS, the City Council doth find and declare that the total assessed valuation of property both real and personal, within the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, is the sum of $____, and
WHEREAS, the City Council doth find and declare that in order to raise said sum of $____ it is necessary to levy a tax of one mill on the dollar of assessed valuation and that the amount to be raised by said tax will not full cover the certified needs of said Board of Trustees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS
1) That there be and there is hereby levied on all real and personal property within the City of Jonesboro, a tax of one mill on each dollar of assessed valuation of all real and personal property living and situated within the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, for year 1981, to be collected in the year 1980, and that the funds realized there from be devoted to the purpose set out in the Fireman’s Pension and Relief Acts and Ordinances.
2) That the County Clerk of Craighead County, Arkansas, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to extend said tax herein described upon the tax books and that the same be collected in the same manner as other property taxes are collected.
3) That the City Clerk is hereby directed to spread this resolution upon the minute book of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas and to certify a copy of same to the County Clerk of...
