AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.778 SAME BEING AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE AND REFUSE IN THE CITY OF JONESBORO, PROVIDING FOR THE INSPECTION OF PREMISES, FIXING A SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR SAID SERVICES, PROVIDING FOR PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF, AND FOR ALL OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: Section 11 of Ordinance no.778 is amended as follows: The fee for such collection shall be paid monthly in advance and shall be as follows:
(a) Each single family residence……………………………$3.00 per month
(b) Each apartment unit, flat, house trailer or house keeping unit with an individual meter…………………………………………$3.00 per month
(c) Multi-dwelling unit facilities with a single meter shall be billed as commercial accounts and rates set as for all other commercial accounts.
Each building, house, or part of building occupied by a commercial business or office building shall pay a rate as recommended by the foreman of garbage and refuse collection and/or Superintendent of Public Works and approved by the Sanitation Committee of the City Council. Said recommendation shall be based on the number of required garbage and refuse pick-ups, volume, and time required for such services and shall be not less than $4.00 per month.
Section 2: Nothing in this Ordinance shall be constructed to repeal any portion of Ordinance No.778, as amended, except such portions of Ordinance No.778, and as amended, as are in conflict herewith.
Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect April 1, 1971, and shall be in full force and effects from and after said date.
