AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH ASSOCIATED ENGINEERING AND TESTING, LLC (AET) FOR SURVEYING SERVICES FOR JOB NO. 100614, FEDERAL AID PROJECT NO. SD-AR51 (1) AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO PAY FOR SAID SERVICES (NOTE: THIS CONTRACT HAD SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENTS WITH RES-09:106 ON JULY 7, 2009, AND RES-10:050 ON MAY 18, 2010)

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro Public Works Committee evaluated, ranked and interviewed firms from the list of engineers/surveyors that submitted RFQ’s for engineering and surveying services, AND
WHEREAS, the firm selected to perform a complete inventory of the existing drainage system inventory throughout the city limits of the City of Jonesboro (500,000 linear foot of pipe maximum) and collect data for illicit discharges was Associated Engineering and Testing, LLC (AET), AND
WHEREAS, the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department has approved the agreement for surveying services consisting of pages 1 through 27 including Appendices A-C, AND
WHEREAS, Associated Engineering and Testing, LLC (AET) has negotiated a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract in the amount of $615,185.91 to perform such surveying services, AND
WHEREAS, funds to pay for this contract shall come from the City of Jonesboro Capital Improvement Fund and shall be reimbursed through the Federal Drainage Grant administered through the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That the City of Jonesboro hereby accepts and shall enter into a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract with Associated Engineering and Testing, LLC (AET), for surveying services in the amount of $ 615,185.91.
SECTION 2: That the Mayor, Douglas Formon and City Clerk, Donna Jackson are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
